Campaign achievements

Lille
The City of Lille uses 50% recycled paper, serves organic meals in schools and at receptions, has reduced the use of pesticides and fertiliser in the management of green spaces, and reduced the energy consumption for public lighting by 32%.
Barcelona
The City of Barcelona spends €16.2 million each year on cleaning services, and demands that the contractors only use non-toxic products meeting the Procura+ criteria.
Zürich
The City of Zürich included strict energy efficiency standards in new building construction and renovation work covering over 55,000 m2, representing spending of over €280 million. In 2005 it also purchased over 2,000 energy efficient computers saving over 120,000 kg CO2, and spent nearly €400,000 on organic food.
Ferrara
In the City of Ferrara in Italy, 80-90% of all food served in school canteens is organic, and part of the car fleet has now been replaced by hybrid vehicles. The City also purchases 50% recycled paper, serves Fair Trade drinks, uses non-toxic cleaning products and has installed photovoltaics in schools.
Kolding
In 2005, in the City of Kolding, Denmark 100% of IT equipment purchases and cleaning services met the Procura+ criteria, and 65,000 kg of organic food was purchased. Effectively 100% of Kolding's procurement activities contain environmental requirements.
