Greater London Authority (GLA)
For the GLA group, responsible procurement means pioneering socially, environmentally and economically responsible procurement to deliver improved quality of life and better value for money for people, businesses and the city.
Under Mayor of London Boris Johnson, London has set new priorities and re-focused their approach to delivery. The Responsible Procurement Baseline Report, ‘Getting value for London’ refers to programmes already in place and provides baseline information on what they have achieved.

Public Procurement Award 2009 in Sustainability & Social Procurement Category
The Greater London Authority Group (GLA) was presented with a highly commended award in the Sustainability and Social Procurement category, following outstanding innovation in applying sustainability principles to a number of key projects as part of the Responsible Procurement Programme. The award was given by the UK Government Opportunity (GO) magazine.
Supplier survey
A supplier survey was issued to over 3,500 GLA Group suppliers to capture information on the profile of their business; identify awareness of Responsible Procurement and key support programmes; and obtain feedback on GLA group procurement processes. The survey was completed in January 2009 and the summary sets out the actions which the GLA group will be taking forward in response to the feedback.
