Interessengemeinschaft ökologische Beschaffung (IGÖB)/Communauté d'intérêt écologie et marchés Suisse (CIEM)

The „Community of Interest on ecological procurement in Switzerland“ („Interessengemeinschaft ökologische Beschaffung Schweiz, IGÖB) fosters the integration of ecological and social aspects in public procurement. It is a non-profit organization which has about 35 members from different Swiss communities and cantons. It wants to act as example for public organisations and private enterprises.

The four goals of the IGÖB are:
1     Information     Within the IGÖB and towards external stakeholders
2     Harmonisation     Development of guidelines, instruments and assessment methods or criteria for procurement 
3     Cooperation     Cooperation with producers, suppliers and private institutions
4     Coordination     Concentration of the available know-how and using of synergies
